Meet Dr. Sikes
Dr. Scott Sikes has been in Optometry from a very early age. He started out working at his father's office from high school and has been in the profession ever since. He graduated from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a BS in Biology Pre-Med in 2005, and then attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry where he graduated in 2009. Dr. Sikes practiced Optometry in Wilmington for almost five years before deciding to move back to the Chapel Hill area to join Chapel Hill Eyecare. He worked as an associate at Chapel Hill Eyecare from 2015 to 2018 then he purchased Chapel Hill Eyecare from Dr. Laurel Gropper in January of 2018.
Dr. Sikes enjoys treating and managing all diseases of the eye as well as basic and specialty contact lens fits for patients of all ages. He actively manages glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and chronic dry eye. Dr. Sikes enjoys co-managing patient care with primary care physicians as well as Ophthalmologists whenever possible.
Dr. Sikes is married to the love of his life, Afton, and they have two sons, Hudson and Foster. They also have a Golden Retriever named Lulu. When Dr. Sikes isn't seeing patients, he enjoys wakesurfing, soccer, golf, surfing, woodworking, and DIY projects.
